Hello! In this guide, we'll explain how your servers can accept and manage orders using a kitchen display in your establishment with FireMenu. If you don't already use a kitchen display, we recommend considering this option to maximize your restaurant's automation. Let's get started!
Initial Setup: Employee Settings and Accounts
Before your servers can start taking orders, make sure you have everything set up correctly.
Check the Status Settings
Go to the " Settings" section and verify that the "Statuses" option is selected. This will ensure your servers can see the full flow of each order, from placement to service.
Create Accounts for your Waiters
To give your servers access to the POS system, you'll need to create accounts for each of them. Go to the "Employees" section and add each server, specifying their email address, phone number, and a PIN for the multi-user terminal. This will allow them to log in and manage orders independently.
How Servers Can Access FireMenu
Once the checks are set up, your servers have two options to access FireMenu:
From your Phone:
Install the app on your smartphone and log in using the email or phone number provided.
From the Multi-User Terminal:
Log in to the terminal using the PIN assigned to you. Multi-user terminal setup will be explained in detail in future tutorials.
Order Management in the POS System
Once servers log in, they can go to the “POS” section to view the table map and manage orders quickly and easily.
Taking an Order
When a table is selected on the map, the server can click "New Order" and add the items the customer requested. The order will then be automatically sent to the kitchen.
View Order Status
Once the order is submitted, servers will see the "waiting" status next to each item. As the dishes are prepared, the statuses will change automatically:
Blue: The dish is being prepared.
Orange: The dish is ready to be served.
When the waiter delivers the dish, you must click on the item to mark it as served.
Additional Features for Efficient Management
The FireMenu POS system includes additional options that make order management easier:
Split the Order:
Allows you to separate items into different accounts if customers wish to pay separately.
Change Waiter or Table:
You can transfer the order to another server or move it to another table in case customers change seats.
Add Comments:
Add specific notes to the order.
Payment Management and Order Closing
Payment Process When the customer is ready to pay, the server simply clicks "pay," prints the check, and chooses the payment method. If the customer pays in cash , the system allows them to enter the amount received and automatically calculates the change. Once payment is confirmed, simply click "pay" to complete the order.
Closed Orders Once an order is paid, it is automatically archived in the closed orders section, making it easy to keep track of sales and access the history when needed.
Conclusion
And that's it! Now you know how your servers can easily manage orders using a kitchen display in FireMenu. This tool not only streamlines workflow but also improves the service experience for your customers, allowing for faster and more accurate management.
